The Knox family has been in the concrete business for over 45 years. Originally started by Barney Lee Knox Jr. in 1967. The Knox Family purchased its first mixer truck under the name Knox Concrete and started batching using only a conveyer belt, backhoe, and bagged cement. In 1978 the Knox family opened under the new name Chilton County Concrete. In 1986 brothers Mark and Bobby Knox formed Shelby Concrete Incorporated. The company has since expanded from it's central Alabama roots into markets in the Montgomery River Region and the Gulf Coast Regions of Alabama under its subsidiaries Builders Supply and Baldwin Concrete. We currently operate 8 plants across the state of Alabama. Our customers range from home builders to large construction jobs to the private individual. We are currently expanding to new locations to provide concrete to more locations in Alabama and to better service our customers.
