More than 100 seniors across our district attended the Graduates to Work Career Fair on February 23! The fair is organized by SDPC's graduation coaches to connect students with jobs that they can fill right out of high school, and it was hosted by Daniel High. We want to thank the 26 local companies who were represented at the fair, providing our students a wide range of opportunities for success beyond the classroom! School District of Pickens County added 11 new photos to the album: 2017 JetToy Challenge.
Congratulations to the winners of the 2017 5th Grade JetToy Challenge! The JetToy Challenge is a hands-on, competitive way for students who learn physics. Students use what they have learned in their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) courses to make a small balloon-powered cart hit goals for accuracy, time, distance, and weighted distance. This year, the challenge added a new component--interviews--in which students had to explain to teachers the science behind their creations. Two creatively-named teams from each Pickens County elementary school met at Daniel High School on February 21 to determine a winner. We're very proud of these winners: • First Place - "The Clueless Five" - Forest Acres Elementary • Second Place - "Unicorns of the Sea" - Clemson Elementary • Third Place - "Furman Devils" - Pickens Elementary

Two teams from each elementary school are competing in our #STEM JetToy Challenge this morning at Daniel High School! Stay tuned for the winners...
