Gainesville Regional Airport

Gainesville Regional Airport, operated by the Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority, serves North Central Florida and the “Heart of Florida” through all facets of aviation: general aviation, commercial airlines, military and air cargo. Located in Gainesville, Florida just minutes away from the University of Florida, the airport serves a population of nearly a million within its catchment area.

Air carriers include Delta Air Lines with service to Atlanta and US Airways Express with service to Charlotte. The airport has a 64,000 square foot airline terminal with three boarding bridges. The terminal’s interior was recently renovated and unveiled in December. The renovation completely changed the look and feel of air travel in North Central Florida while significantly improving the terminal’s efficiency.

The airport has two intersecting runways: runway 7/25 (4,147 feet long) and runway 11/29 (7,501 feet long). Other recently completed and planned projects include the rehabilitation of several taxiways at $ million and the GA apron at $ million.

The airport communicates on a weekly basis with an attentive audience of nearly 8,000 subscribers via an e-mail distribution list that grows daily. These members have voluntarily registered to receive airfare and air service development information from the airport.
