For 14 years The Vault was located at 700 Main Street in Beech Grove. The Vault was named the #1 Salon in Indy by NUVO readers multiple times, and named the Best Place for an Updo/Special Occasion Hair by Indianapolis Monthly Magazine.
In 2020, largely due to Covid-19, owner Kim Browning moved her personal salon business to her home. Longtime teammate Brandon Lasley continued working at the original location until the landlord sold the building. He is now at Shear Magic on the opposite corner at 7th and Main.
For many years we were home to Project Prom - a non profit group that helped girls in financial hardship by providing them with dresses, shoes, jewelry, evening bags and wraps for the prom. We turned over all of our inventory to another organization called Blessings & Bling. Please visit their page for dates and locations of dress giveaways.
Kim had to abruptly retire in June 2022, after suffering from a subdural hematoma and undergoing a craniotomy. This came almost 2 years to the day after opening her home salon.
Kim would like to thank all of the clients over the years for their business and friendship! She has many friends in the hair business and would be happy to recommend one of them to you!
