The Broome County Health Department is a full service health department. I addition to state-mandated core basic services, a range of preventative and population-based services is provided to ensure public health and wellness. The ability of the health department to provide preventative services and chronic disease support and education strengthens the existing health care delivery system with the goal of taking a proactive role in helping to improve the overall health status of community residents. Divisions within the Broome County Health Department include Administration, Environmental Health, Clinic Services, Maternal Child Health and Development, and Children with Special Healthcare Needs.
