CONTINUING on to Daniel 5! - There sure was a lot of partying going on in Babylon! And then, how very strange, a hand appeared and wrote on the wall. Daniel was summoned to make sense of it all. He spoke of Nebuchadnezzar -“his spirit was hardened in pride. He spoke to Belshazzar – you “have not humbled your heart.” At the same time an enemy was mounting a sneak attack and ended up conquering the kingdom – party over! Lesson learned - GET HUMBLE - STAY HUMBLE!

What fun! What good fellowship with believers from 4 different churches! Today we made over 100 Valentine's cards to be delivered this Tuesday to a care facility in Willimantic. Please pray that the love of God will powerfully and sweetly touch the lives of the lonely and often forgotten ones who live there. Thank You! #RomanticWillimantic

Daniel and his friends stood alone because they would not bow down to the statue of a false god – King Nebuchadnezzar. The fiery furnace awaited them. Fast forward to the martyrs of today. Please go to -http://christiantimes.com/article/over-90000-christians-were-killed-for-their-faith-in-2016-according-to-new-study/69339.htm. Daniel said (3:17-18) “The God we serve can rescue us…but even if He doesn’t, we still wouldn’t serve your gods or worship the golden statue.”

God directs nations, leaders, individuals. He is ruler of all! This week, as we get a new president, let us remember the words of our first president, George Washington -"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor...". Well stated!!! Pray, persevere, prevail!!!
