Arlington United Church

We are a congregation of persons who believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and as the Savior of the World. The church was formed in 1974 with the merger of Arlington United Methodist Church and First United Congregational Church. In 2004 the church transferred its congregational affiliation to the Evangelical Covenant Church. Today, Arlington United Church (AUC) is affiliated with two denominations, the United Methodist Church and the Evangelical Covenant Church. We continue as one body, united in Jesus Christ.
Our membership includes those from various denominational backgrounds and those with no previous denominational affiliation. We welcome you and invite you to be a part of our faith life.

Visitors often ask about our alignment with two Protestant Christian denominations. The United Methodist system follows the episcopalian form of church governance. The Evangelical Covenant system follows the congregational form. These two are very different when it comes to the method of organization and leadership in the local church. When Arlington United Church was formed by a local church merger in 1974 the two churches drafted Bylaws to define the specifics of this church's operation. It has since been amended several times.
The basic understanding is that our local church manages itself as a congregational church, seeking guidance from our denominational leadership when appropriate. We support both denominations and have the full resources of both available to us, including missions outreach, summer camps, and spiritual development programs.

Join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:15 am and for our Prayer service at 5pm and Ventus at 6pm. We also have Sunday School at 9am and various other Bible Studies and small groups throughout the week. Please contact us for more information. We would love to see you!
