Wiley Homes Inc

Wiley Homes, Inc. was founded in 1978. We offer a variety of services and support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as Mental Health, ranging in age from early 20’s to 90+. We are funded through the Medicaid Waiver programs and are monitored by the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) as well as the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities ( DODD.) Wiley Homes, Inc. promotes self-determination and self-advocacy while fostering healthy relationships. We provide opportunities for participation in leisure activities of interest, paid work, volunteering, assistance in learning new skills, and encouragement to continue to grow and excel.


Adult Day Services

- A Better Choice Dayhab (Founded in 2008)
A Better Choice is an Adult Day Services program that serves the needs of adults with a variety of developmental disabilities. Our goal is to assist our individuals to be as independent as possible by providing the opportunity for participation in community activities, assistance in learning new things, and encouragement to grow and excel. Our program is person centered. We take great care to get to know each of our cleints in order to learn about their own personal goals.

- Wiley Wellness (Founded in 2015)
Wiley Wellness is an adult day services program that focuses on both mind and body. We offer an active program that provides fitness evaluations, body composition testing, individual goal setting, group exercise classes, and supervised strength training to improve physical health. In addition, we want to promote an overall healthy lifestyle through healthy cooking and nutrition classes, community outings (The University of Toledo recreation center and The University Church), fun activities and games, and holistic arts and crafts.

A healthy lifestyle provides mental and physical benefits, not to mention a longer, fulfilling life. When our mind and body are at their optimal health, we feel good about ourselves, making the world brighter and our lives happier. Physical benefits of regular exercise and a healthy diet improve our health, and specifically decrease chances of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes and cancer.

- Wiley Weekends (Founded in 2015)
Wiley Homes, Inc. offers a Saturday recreation program, called Wiley Weekends. This program is a great opportunity to get out each Saturday and socialize with others, while participating in fun activities, such as arts and crafts, cooking classes, themed parties, light exercise, games, and much more.

- Wiley Works (Founded in 2015)
Wiley Works offers an opportunity for paid employment. Individuals can participate in up to 5 hours a week of paid employment on a cleaning crew earning minimum wage. The crew will rotate between three local churches with duties including: working in a greenhouse to prepare for spring and summer planting, cleaning the churches, and light office duties as well as cleaning in homes. This is a great opportunity to begin developing skills in a community setting while still receiving needed supervision and support.
