The Objective of the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce:

To develop, encourage, promote and protect the business, industrial, professional, financial, agricultural, and general interests of Kerrville, its surrounding communities and trade territory
To promote the civic interests and general welfare of its communities
To extend and promote trade, commerce and tourism;
To foster and encourage the development of transportation and communication facilities and other resources for the county and its trade territory;
To support and encourage the development of laws and regulations desirable for the betterment and benefit of its member businesses; and
To provide a forum and a common voice reflecting the sentiments of the business community regarding matters affecting its interests.

History:

From our humble beginnings back in 1922 when Mr. Ally Beitel and Mr. R. L. Schmerbeck met at Pampell’s in downtown Kerrville, the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce has been an active and integral part of business in our area. With almost 90 years of history behind us, some of Kerrville’s most recognizable names have been part of the rich tradition of this organization. Scott Schreiner, Garrett, Jr., Martin Stehling, Harry Schwethelm, Ken Stoepel, John Grimes and William Goertz to name a few are part of a legacy of leadership that has forged the Chamber into the forefront of Hill Country organizations.

Whether the focus has been on tourism, transportation, industrial development or community development, the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce has played an official role in the growth of Kerrville and Kerr County for almost 90 years. Membership in the chamber exceeds 950 members and continues to be an “must-have investment” for businesses to looking to become involved in economic development for our region, building their business in Kerrville and Kerr County and much more.
