The Central Library has the largest and most eclectic collection of materials available for borrowing in Monroe County. Specialized subject divisions offer access to an extensive array of books, DVDs, music, and reference materials, as well as a highly trained and knowledgeable staff.
The Kate Gleason Auditorium in the Bausch & Lomb Building is the site of weekly lunchtime programs offered by the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library. These programs often feature lectures and presentations by people well-known in the Rochester & Monroe County region.
The Central Library is also home to an active Teen Center and digital learning lab, imagineYou.
More than 100 computers are available for use by visitors throughout the Central Library campus.
