Dick Barlow started a small pizza company in the 1960s. He named his pizza after his brother-in-law, Greg "Tony" Paglia and Tony's Pizza was born. It wasn't until Marvin Schwan purchased the company in 1970 that Tony's really took off. Using Schwan's small fleet of home delivery trucks, Tony's became the first company to deliver pizza straight to customers' homes.
By 1976, Tony's was being delivered directly to grocery stores. More recently, Tony's was one of the first companies to provide pizza to schools, and create microwavable, single-serve pizzas for the freezer case.
Over 35 years have passed since the first Tony's Pizza was packaged and purchased. the brand has grown and is now found in grocer's freezers all over the country. It's a pizza brand families have grown to love.
