In 1945, fourteen individuals met at a home for bible study and potluck. By 1953, these individuals grew large enough to seek out a new facility. For $15k the building on First Street East was purchased from the Methodists. The building was constructed by a Methodist minister who was a carpenter who had built other churches in the areas of present day Vallejo and Napa. The church was the first protestant church north of San Francisco.
