The United Way of Cattaraugus County was founded in 1922, originally in Olean, New York. First called the Unified Welfare Association, the mission of the organization was to ensure adequate health care for all citizens regardless of income. Over the years, The United Way of Cattaraugus County has acted as a primary fundraising and allocating agency, funding a wide variety of local social and human service organizations and continues our mission of “Improving people’s lives by mobilizing resources and meeting the needs of our communities.”
