Got Bikes? It's still not late to go for a ride.
Cyclists seeking to experience one of the most unique areas of the park will enjoy biking along the Carbon River Trail. This 5-mile biking/hiking trail follows the Carbon River with scenic views and changing vistas. This gravel road is open only to hikers and bicyclists beyond the park boundary. The road gains approximately 600 feet in elevation along its 5-mile length; some sections are rough and rocky. The road ends at Ipsut Creek backcountry camp, beyond which only hikers are allowed. This video clip starts at Ipsut Creek backcountry camp and shows segments of the last section of the Carbon River Trail. Learn more about biking in the park at NPS video of a cyclist traveling and passing another biker on a gravel trail with fir trees on both sides and traveling over a bridge with running water on both sides. ~lc
