OVERVIEW
Rail Mechanical Services Inc (RMSI) is a service provider of freight, historic and leisure railroad services. Founded in 2001 and based in Columbia (PA), we have grown rapidly whilst retaining an exceedingly high standard of personal customer service. A dedicated workforce skilled technicians ensure that every project operates on time and to specified quality standards.

SERVICES
RMSI provides recognized excellence in the following services; Locomotive, Railcar and Track. Our staff have a diverse yet highly experienced skillset enabling us to provide a quality, tailored service charged at sensible prices. We adhere to the major recognized regulations such as FRA and ASTM meaning safety and reliability is never compromised.

We can provide all your locomotive and railcar needs such as scheduled preventative maintenance, emergency call out repairs, inspections and installation of auxiliary systems. We also conduct full or partial rebuild and restorations of rolling stock. RMSI provides these services to freight railroad locomotives, historic rolling stock and leisure rail trains.

We can also provide all your track and infrastructure needs such as alignment design, supply, delivery, construction, repair, signaling and surveys. Our vast experience of delivering such services ensures a cost effective and timely project. Although our standard services are in the standard gauge (4ft 81/2” – 1,435mm) market, we also undertake narrow gauge projects.

We can provide all your diesel locomotive, railcar and track needs such as scheduled preventative maintenance, emergency call out repairs, inspections, rebuilds, installation of auxiliary systems, restoration, track constructions, repair, surveys, signaling and alignment design.

Alongside our core Freight Railroad and Historic Railroad services, we also supply Leisure Railroad solutions. These are from 15” (381mm) gauge through to standard gauge (4ft 81/2” – 1,435mm). This includes diesel, LPG and electric locomotive scheduled preventative maintenance, emergency call out repairs, inspections, rebuilds, restoration, track constructions, repair, surveys, signaling and alignment design.
