Join us for an important Adult Discussion on Sunday, January 28, 2018! "Breaking Silence: Beginning the Conversation on Sexual Violence in Muslim Communities" Nadiah Mohajir, HEART Women & Girls Nadya Ali, Filmmaker Edmund Arroyo, The Heartspeak Institute Breaking Silence is the first film of its kind in documenting American Muslim women's stories about their sexual assault experiences coping, coming out to their families and friends, and their insight about the change that needs to take place to help survivors, hold perpetrators accountable, and prevent reoccurrences. Join HEART Women & Girls, the filmmaker of Breaking Silence, and Webb Foundation with a powerful film screening and post-discussion. Learn about sexual violence in the Muslim community and the role we can play in creating safer spaces for survivors in an era of gendered Islamophobia.
