Diversified Foods, Inc (DFI) symbolizes the very essence of a successful family business. DFI operates from its Metairie, LA, headquarters as a continuation of three generations of service and dedication to the food industry.
Founded in 1948 by Mr. Tabary, DFI's primary business consisted of rice trading and export. Upon Mr. Tabary's retirement in 1974, ownership of the company was passed on to his son-in-law, Mr. Marcel J. Damiens (who had been assisting in its management for 15 years). Mr. Damiens expanded the business by incorporating rice packaging and commodity trading segments.
In 1989, Mr. Damiens children, Tab and Michelle, assumed control of Diversified Foods, Inc. and have continued to adapt to changes in the worldwide food market.
DFI continues to expand its ability to service a broader segment of the food business both domestically and internationally and has added regional distribution centers in Houston, Texas; Miami, Fla.; Lakeland, Fla.; Hanover, Pa.; York, Pa.; Grand Prairie, Texas; Buena Park, Calif.; and Naperville, Ill; in order to better service our customers 'Just in Time' inventory needs.
