Dr. Pate is one of only 837 physicians in the United States that is Board Certified in Obesity Medicine and he is a Certified Menopause Specialist. Dr. Pate is also a member of the American Society of Bariatric Medicine, North American Menopausal Society (NAMS), and North Carolina Medical Society. Dr. Pate is founder and Medical Director of Western Wayne Medical and Biosymmetry Hormone Health and Weight Management. Dr. Pate originally trained in clinical medicine and worked as an Emergency Room doctor for 12 years. He then opened Western Wayne Medical Center in 1994 and has remained active in his community. After years of practicing family medicine, Dr. Pate grew tired of not having effective treatments for his patients suffering from perimenopause, menopause, andropause, and thryroid conditions.
