The grand prize winner of the Teachers That Shine Contest for the Hampton Roads market is Breanna Mead of Green Run Collegiate in Virginia Beach. “In her first year of teaching, Ms. Mead has done an exceptional job. Our class fell behind in curriculum in our junior year, leaving an overwhelming amount of content to cover during our senior year. Ms. Mead did that in a timely manner, while allowing time to work on internal assessment and complete lab hours,” elaborated student nominator Denise Del Rosario. “Her personality is bright and always encouraging to her students. The commitment and enthusiasm she shows is contagious to the people around her…she simply cares for her students beyond the classroom.”
