Today Teri Hallmark's class got a demonstration on forearm work on the back before they were paired up and able to practice on each other. Teri also provided a drawing on the whiteboard of the back of a body. She put in the lamina grooves in the spine, the sacrum, the glutes, and drew in some of the attaching hamstring muscles going down the back of the leg.

If you've dreamed about becoming a massage therapist now is the time to be half way there and join us for our Introductory Massage Class on May 9th from 5:50 to 8:30. To hold your spot please RSVP through email at director@bellevuemassageschool.com or 425-641-3409. Also come learn about exciting scholarship news at the class.

Top five reasons to put your client into the side-lying position. 1. Comfort- Side-lying allows clients who have trouble breathing with their head in the face cradle on their stomachs, relieves the pressure off of women with large or painful breasts, and aids in making massage easier for people with ostomy bags, chemotherapy port, or even painful surgical sites still in the healing process. 2. Safety for pregnant women who are in their second trimester and higher. 3. If your client tends to get dizzy after a massage due to the drop in blood pressure from pressure on the vena cava. 4. Easy to work on the TFL, QL, and the IT Band. (Interested in these words? If so it's time to call Bellevue Massage School) 5. A great way to make sure you are able to meet all of your clients needs. A great read and information I wrote above is from this article https://www.ww.amtaonlinetraining.org/articles/3/MTJ/detail/2850
