Each year, we provide shelter and care for more than 20,000 pets and horses, giving them second chances for health, happiness and forever homes - more than any other shelter our size. At the Dumb Friends League, we turn no animals away and there is no time limit for how long an animal stays at our shelters; we're committed to serving as a compassionate safety net for all pets and all people.
As part of a compassionate community, the Dumb Friends League collaborates and innovates to:
• Rescue sick, injured and neglected animals • Investigate cases of neglect and mistreatment • Provide shelter, veterinary care, and behavior and training programs to homeless pets and horses • Adopt homeless pets and horses to new homes • Reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs • Offer learning opportunities for the public to keep more pets in homes • Educate children and adults about animals and their needs.
