S&K Industries t/a Abuelita Mexican Food Products was formed in 1969 as the part time effort of two men with a love for Mexican foods. S&K Industries now employs approximately 60 people.
It was apparent from the beginning that a demand existed for quality Mexican food in the area. As the market began to grow, S&K produced tortillas for not only the institutional market, but also for outlets such as Costco and various gourmet chains, including Whole Foods and Wegman's.
Working with a team of food brokers in the regional markets, we now service the Mid-Atlantic area from New England to Florida. Our institutional distributors include such names as Sysco and US Foodservice, along with many other excellent smaller wholesalers.
Abuelita products are used by many Mexican restaurants, but ethnic restaurants are actually a minor part of our sales. Our products are also used in up-scale dining, hotels, amusement parks, camps, business dining, mass feeders and school systems.
S&K originally occupied 500 sq. ft. in Herndon, Virginia. We now have a 36,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility in Manassas Park, VA.
