The Democratic Party of Oak Park is one of the largest progressive Democratic organizations in Illinois. Made up of members from all walks of life, from Oak Park and the surrounding region, DPOP is open to anyone who wishes to help elect Democrats and discuss issues important to Democratic voters.
Our elected Democratic Committeeman is State Senator Don Harmon. Senator Harmon has served in the post since August of 2000.
The Democratic Party of Oak Park has a relatively informal structure, with leaders volunteering their time to our efforts. Anyone is welcome to be a part of the DPOP. Individuals can donate as much, or as little, time as they wish. In whatever way you can join us, WE WANT YOU! So come out and volunteer!
The Democratic Party of Oak Park meets monthly, on the second Saturday of every month at 10 in the Rock Community Room at DPOP headquarters, 6941-A W North Avenue, Oak Park.
