*Every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall; every 19 minutes, an older adult dies from a fall โ€“ CDC Mark Haberman, Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington Planning Coordinator, Carol Irion, Karen Kiessling and Ken Smith, all Aging & Long Term Care volunteers, gave a presentation on A Matter of Balance to our Planning and Management Council today. A Matter of Balance is an award winning program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls.
