Columbus Cancer Clinic

The Young Professionals Group for the Columbus Cancer Clinic an agency of LifeCare Alliance, was founded in 2003. The YPG was founded in an effort to encourage young professionals within Columbus to become involved in their community through volunteerism, to provide an opportunity to network with other area professionals, and to increase awareness and financial support for the programs and services provided by the Columbus Cancer Clinic through fundraising and special events.

A small group of young professionals met on April 3, 2003 to begin what would become a strong element of support for the Clinic and its programs within the community. As one of the first efforts of the group, a project to build a Labyrinth was initiated. A labyrinth is a single path or unicursal tool for personal, psychological and spiritual transformation. Labyrinths are thought to enhance right brain activity and can be a supplement to prescriptive healing programs.

The YPG intends to continue and increase its efforts to build awareness within the Columbus community about the Columbus Cancer Clinic an agency of LifeCare Alliance and its programs. The YPG also intends to increase fundraising participation within the Columbus community through the establishment of committed participants to both the Awareness Committee and the Networking Committee. The YPG is building a foundation of support for the Columbus Cancer Clinic that is necessary to achieve the mission of the Columbus Cancer Clinic to provide services and support regardless of ability to pay.
