In 1948, Nick Thomarios started a small painting company to serve the residential markets of Akron and the surrounding communities. His business steadily grew into the commercial fields, and eventually became incorporated in 1969. Nick’s son Paul began learning how to paint houses with his father at an early age. By the time Paul graduated high school, Nick was taking summers off returning to Greece, this left Paul in charge of the business. After Paul Graduated from The University of Akron, he realized he had an opportunity to grow his fathers business. He did this by adhering to key components that his father instilled in when he was young, which were quality and integrity. Paul was instrumental in directing and expanding Thomarios to a different level. This was done by acquiring jobs throughout the country in the 70’s and 80’ this time Thomarios became known as one of the largest specialty painting contractors in the industry. Since that time Thomarios has grown to become a diverse corporation, with comprehensive services in Construction Management, General Construction, Commercial and Industrial Painting and Coatings, Coating failure analysis, Coating Consulting/Specification, Powder Coating, Historic Spacecraft, Aircraft, and Building Restoration.
Both Quality and Integrity still stand true today in all of the Thomarios employees, and show in each and every project Thomarios is involved in.
