Our philosophical approach is based on the belief that students learn through experience. Class projects and performances are designed to draw on individual learning styles while encouraging collaborative problem solving. The school was named after the distinguished Cherokee leader who developed a syllabary for his people's unwritten language. The naming of the school reflects the love of books and reading that is at the heart of Sequoyah's education.
