Videx designs, manufactures, and distributes products directly from its headquarters located in Corvallis, Oregon.
Videx began its business in 1979 by creating a video card enhancement solution for Apple computers. Videx increased the line of Apple and Macintosh enhancement products to include microprocessor-based keyboard enhancers, advanced printer interface cards, and productivity software.
In 1985 Videx launched its next major product line, portable data collection terminals. Housed in rugged metal cases that stand up to the rigors of harsh environments, their lasting performance and durability established new benchmarks within the data collection industry. The product line includes both portable handheld barcode scanners and iButton readers.
While researching the lock and security industry, Videx saw the need for a durable, intelligent, electronic lock cylinder that would receive its power from a key. In the Spring of 2000, Videx introduced CyberLock, a product so innovative that it was immediately recognized by the security industry as an exciting break-through technology. Since its introduction, CyberLock has been honored with many national and international "product of the year" awards.
In 2006, CyberLock surpassed 200 different lock designs. The wide variety of cylinders available fit lock housing in numerous applications including doors, padlocks, safes, cabinets, gates, desks, containers, cargo bays, vending machines, and more. In addition a range of custom CyberLock designs secure the needs of a variety of unique applications around the world. Videx continues to develop innovative hardware and software, consistently adding new features and benefits to the CyberLock family.
