Harvest Hope Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Beginning in 1981 as an emergency food box program, Harvest Hope is now a regional distribution program that collects, stores and distributes food and related items to more than 400 member partners in 20 counties throughout central South Carolina, with regional offices in Columbia, Florence and Greenville.
Member partners are food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Other programs administered by Harvest Hope Food Bank include children's hunger programs, which are Kids Cafe, BackPack programs, Senior hunger programs, mobile food pantries, and our own branded Emergency Food Pantries. As a member of Feeding America, the national network of over 200 food banks, Harvest Hope is a powerful agent in the war against hunger. On average, we distribute over 19 million pounds of food per year.
