Heather graduated from New York University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2001 and worked at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) from 2001 - 2009. During her tenure at HSS, Heather was the Assistant Section Manager of the Joint Mobility Center and was a member of the Sports Rehabilitation and Performance Center. Currently, Heather is credentialed as an Advanced Hip Clinician by the HSS Rehabilitation Network and has extensive experience treating patients with hip disorders both conservatively and post-operative.

Heather has spent her entire career as an orthopedic and sports medicine clinician and has lectured professionally on topics such as Managing the Adolescent Athlete, Treating and Preventing Running Injuries and ACL Injury Prevention. Heather is also a contributing author to Hospital for Special Surgery's textbook "Postsurgical Rehabilitation Guidelines for the Orthopedic Clinician".

A former Division I Athlete at Auburn University, Heather has been a competitive runner for nearly 30 years and was the Greater Long Island Running Club Overall Champion in 2012. Her two children Sayla and Colten are also young emerging athletes. Heather and her team at NPTPT have created an energetic and professional atmosphere for patients seeking rehabilitation from everyday function to professional sports performance.



Patricia Patane, MS, ATC, PT, CSCS
Pat is a Licensed Physical Therapist, Certified Athletic Trainer, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Science in physical and health education/athletic training from James Madison University, a Master of Science in exercise & sports science/athletic training from University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the State University of New York at
Stony Brook.

Ms. Patane specializes in orthopedic and post-surgical injury rehabilitation, with a particular interest in the prevention and care of athletic addition to her work at Prospect Rehabilitation, Ms. Patane is a professor in the field of sports medicine at SUNY Stony Brook.
