Support the HOPWA Program! DEADLINE: COB THURSDAY, March 30! Representatives Nadler, Crowley, and Jayapal have circulated a sign-on letter for the FY18 HOPWA Appropriations Letter. These members support an appropriation of $350 million in order to assure that all HOPWA formula jurisdictions do not lose funding and avoid the risk of homelessness for more than 3,000 households currently housed nationwide. Your help is needed in assuring more members sign on to the letter, demonstrating strong bi-partisan support for HOPWA in this most challenging time. The deadline for the House Appropriations letter requesting increased funds for the HOPWA program in FY18 is THURSDAY, MARCH 30. Please contact your Representatives' offices TODAY and ask that they sign the HOPWA letter being circulated by Representatives Nadler, Crowley, and Jayapal requesting that HOPWA be funded at level of $350 million (please note that NAHC/community recommendation is $385 million) Urgent action needed: • If you have a relationship with a staffer in your Representative's office, email or phone them directly and ask that the member sign on to the HOPWA letter. • You may also call the Capitol Switchboard today at 202-225-3121 and ask for your Representative's office; ask to speak to the housing or health staffer and request that your member co-sign the HOPWA letter. • Let NAHC know of the result of your outreach: nahc@nationalaidshousing.org

Members of Congress must hear from you! It’s critical that your Representatives hear from you and know that the AHCA is unacceptable. It will result in new HIV infections and worse health outcomes for people living with HIV. Your Representative needs to know that constituents want more, better, and more affordable coverage and that the Republican plan will not achieve any of these goals! Get a scrip after the link!
