Horizon Hospice provides care to terminally ill patients in their homes, which include assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and adult family homes.
The Mission of Horizon Hospice
"After all, we do not usually think much about the next world till our hopes in this one have been pretty well flattened out." -
It is in the certainty of a greater life yet to come and our desire to honor God that we commit ourselves to the care of the terminally ill, with the expectation that our quality of care will be second to none, with the promise that individuals will have total control of their care, and with the assurance that our staff will be fully qualified and in a continuing state of improvement.
At Horizon Hospice we expect and receive only the best service from our employees. In our commitment to them we provide continued education, we offer opportunities to grow within the organization, and we gratefully reward their efforts not only monetarily, but with our profound admiration and acknowledgment of their accomplishments.
Hospice care is a relatively new entity in the area of medical services and the current state requirements demand a high standard of care and techniques. While using the most current techniques in the provision of care, Horizon Hospice is also committed to constant research and innovation that will expand the boundaries for improved care.
Horizon Hospice works diligently to become an integral part of the community by working closely with other medical groups, keeping citizens informed of hospice benefits, sharing in the education of our youth, providing greater employment opportunities, and supporting Spokane County in general with our participation in its growth and development.
Goals of Horizon Hospice
1. To ensure that the end of life is pain-free and fulfilling. 2. To allow each person with a terminal illness to remain in his or her own home in comfort and control. 3. To spare families from financial hardships caused by the high medical costs of treatment of terminal illness. 4. To provide bereavement counseling to family members up to one year after the death of a loved one.
