Courthouse Gallery Fine Art represents contemporary Maine artists, including established artists whose artwork can be found in major collections nationally, emerging artists, and selected estates. This destination gallery offers over 4500 square feet of fine art handsomely displayed in Ellsworth’s historic courthouse and registry of deeds, two Greek Revival buildings built in 1832. Owners Michael and Karin Wilkes opened the gallery in 2006 after renovating both buildings to their former grandeur. A large-scale sculpture park occupies the sweeping lawn out front.
