Villanova was founded in 1842 by the Roman Catholic Order of Saint Augustine. The Augustinian values of Veritas, Unitas, Caritas (Truth, Unity, Love) guide academic and social life at Villanova to this day. Students of all faiths are welcome.
Villanova offers programs in the liberal arts, the sciences, business, engineering, and nursing. All programs are built upon a foundation of academic rigor, ethics, and the humanities through the ages—helping students to excel in any life path they choose. Villanova offers more than 40 challenging academic programs, and there are 32 National Honor Societies on campus.
