Dr. Geraldine Q. Young is an experienced, productive Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Certified Diabetes Educator on a mission to promote the health and well-being of the local population. Dr. Young is a native Mississippian and has graduated from several schools of nursing throughout the course of her career: Mississippi Delta Community College (Associate Degree in Nursing), University of Mississippi Medical Center (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), Alcorn State University (Masters of Science in Nursing), and University of Alabama at Birmingham (Doctor of Nursing Practice).
Dr. Young began practicing locally (Jackson, MS) as a family nurse practitioner in 2005 with a focus on primary care and wellness in addition to diabetes care and management. Dr. Young also serves as an assistant professor at Alcorn State University. Dr. Young has committed her life to serving the people of Mississippi, focusing on preventative care, family medicine, and education.
Dr. Young’s goal is to provide safe, accessible, high quality healthcare services to all individuals across the life span. Dr. Young believes in excellence when it comes to patient care and education.
Dr. Young has lectured extensively on the topic of diabetes and obesity prevention. Locally, Dr. Young has published articles in Jackson Free Press, Boom Jackson, and Jackson Advocate. Dr. Young has also coordinated and participated in countless community service events.
