Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Dr. MacDonald came to Boston in 1976 to study music at Boston University. By 1978, she graduated with Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Bassoon Performance. Following a two year program at the New England Conservatory of Music she obtained an Artist Diploma. Then it was back to Boston University for a Doctorate in Music Program.
However, she never completed that degree because she was inspired to pursue a career in Dentistry -- first spending one year at Forsythe School for Dental Hygiene, then one year at Northeastern University taking the prerequisites for Dental School.
In 1990, Dr. MacDonald graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts School of Dental Medicine. While in Dental School she was actively involved in research concerning the oral complications of wind instrumentalists. After graduation, she worked in the Oral Medicine Department of Tufts Dental School and The New England Medical Center, treating patients with oral complications due to medical conditions. In 1992, she started her practice in Plymouth, MA and will be celebrating twenty years of service to the Plymouth community this year.
