We are privileged to introduce Dr. Richard Hurt DVM, DACVS to the Aloha family as our staff surgeon. Richard J. Hurt, DVM, DACVS - Veterinarian Dr. Richard J Hurt is one of our top-notch Veterinary Surgeons, specializing in Orthopedic & Soft Tissue and veterinary surgery. Beginning at our hospital in early June of 2017, Dr. Hurt has worked with numerous families and their beloved pets providing some of the best care available. He is an active member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. After having graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida in 1998, Dr. Hurt went on to obtain his MS of Veterinary Science in 2005 from the University of Florida. Dr. Hurt grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He has always felt drawn to helping injured or lost animals, but developed a stronger passion for the veterinary field after helping raise a baby swallow that he found amidst his travels to Italy. Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Hurt volunteered at the Houston Humane Society, where he learned about how he could directly help animals in need. Some of the most influential memories of Dr. Hurt’s career come from the time he spent as a surgical intern at Almeda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver. At home, Dr. Hurt enjoys spending time with his wife, Holly, who is also a knowledgeable veterinarian. The Hurts are proud owners of four dogs and six cats. Their playful pups are named Ruffles, Giselle, Tripp, and Boomer, and their cats are named Carl, Newton, Ellie,

We have some big announcements regarding expanding service to first responders and the public. A sercret VIP guest will be in attendance. We will have adoptable animals in attendance. A great Veteran Owned food truck. Some local sponsors helping us along the way and please...LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE FIGHTERS, and all FIRST RESPONDERS ARE INVITED FOR SOME VERY EXCITING NEWS OF THEIR OWN! Paws for Veterans is opening up a full scale facility in Satellite Beach, FL and we want to introduce ourselves to our new neighbors, show you around the beginning stages of our reconstruction and project plans, we will have applications ready to complete for a service dog or emotional support dog, meet some of our current Veterans and service dog teams, information on the services we will be offering, bring your DOG FRIENDLY dog, on leash out to meet and become part of our Paws for Veterans family. With this facility, we can help more Veterans, rescue more dogs and offer a lot of services to the public to help fund Paws! Please come out Saturday from 10am to 4pm for a day of fun and community togetherness. Vendors welcome! No charge! We could also use some volunteers if anyone is able and willing. There are many tasks from small to large if you'd like to help out. If not, just come for the fun.
