1. INSPECTION. Prior to beginning the cleaning process, one of our knowledgeable certified technicians will conduct a walk-through in your home to address all of the concerns you may have with the current condition of your carpeting.
2. WALK OFF MATTING. We will place a walk-off mat in front of your door for our technicians to clean their feet prior to entering your home. This will prevent any of our friendly technicians from accidentally bringing soils onto your flooring.
3. SECURING THE WORK AREA. Before our technicians start to set up the job, we will place highly visible cones to ensure the safety of the job around our truck. This will serve as a visual reminder of the machinery and trip hazards on site to protect all family members and friends who may drop by for a visit.
4. VACUUM. We first thoroughly vacuum your carpet to remove as much loose debris as possible prior to the actual cleaning process. This is done with a commercial-grade machine to assist in lifting the pile of the carpet back up to allow us to clean as deep as possible without damage to the yarns.
5. BASE BOARDS. We wipe down all the base boards in the areas that are to be cleaned paying special attention to the accumulated dust.
6. PRE-TREAT SPOTS. After the vacuuming has been completed, our techs will begin to treat any specialized spots on the fabric.
7. PRESPRAY CARPET. Next we pre-treat your carpeting with the correct pre-spray according to the necessary ph levels to remove the soil without damaging the existing protectors or acid dye resistors. If you are not sure what this means or what type of products are currently on your fabric from the mill, you can research what the current protectors and acid dye resistors are on our website under the tab “protectors and acid dye resistors”.
8. EXTRACTION. Once the pre-spray has had time to dwell on the carpeting, the extraction process will be performed by our techs. This process is done via truck-mounted hot water extraction which many people call “steam cleaning”. During the cleaning process, your carpet is being rinsed with a low ph level rinsing agent to leave the carpet soft and residue free. During this process, if there are any spots that remain in the fabric, our techs will use the proper spotters to treat the areas of concern and then rinse those areas again.
9. SHOE COVERS. Any time that technicians have re-entered the home, we will wear shoe covers on the freshly-cleaned carpet to prevent any track-off and re-soiling. Complimentary shoe covers are also provided for your family.
10. GROOM. After the cleaning process has been completed we will groom your carpeting.
11. DRYING. We also use a Studebaker carpet dryer to accelerate the drying process on your carpeting. This is a specialized air mover specifically designed to assist in removing excess moisture from the carpet prior to our technicians leaving the job site. It has a 24' drying diameter and uses 40mph wind to drastically shorten the otherwise long drying time.
If your current carpet cleaner does not utilize all of these steps during your cleaning process, you should question them as to why.
Carpet cleaning is a process that you can benefit from, or you can be taken to the cleaners! It is unclear most of the time what process is being utilized or what chemicals may be lurking in the form of residue from those jugs and sprayers your current provider is using.
