Musemeche Photography is John Musemeche, who founded the company, Rob Musemeche and office manager Brett Musemeche Crain. Rob worked part-time while a student at LSU and went full-time in 1986. An excellent photographer and proficient in the printing lab, Rob oversees the day to day operation. Brett worked part time for eight years and became full time in 2013. She is a 2012 LSU graduate. Musemeche Photography began in 1963 in Houma, La. as a part-time venture featuring sports teams and weddings. John Musemeche was the sports editor at the Houma Courier at the time. John moved to the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate as a sportswriter in 1965, again shooting part-time John photographed many of the teams in the Baton Rouge area and added other school events like dances and large groups. His wedding business flourished as John led the way in the use of special effects and in adding large numbers of candid poses to his wedding coverage. His "mom's books", (all of the pictures taken the day of the wedding) were a big hit. In 1978 John left the Advocate to go full-time with his first studio and lab at 3783 South Sherwood. Eight years later, the studio moved to larger quarters on Wentling Avenue, accross from the old Schwegmann's and in 1995 the studio bought its own building at 12656 Jefferson Highway.
