Barrington Brewery shared SoCo Creamery's event.
Check out what our neighbors SoCo Creamery have created using our Black Bear Stout tonight in their Great Barrington Store.
SoCo is unveiling five specially made limited edition beer ice creams just for you, tomorrow (Thursday) from 5 to 8 at our Great Barrington scoop shop, followed by a happy hour (really hours) on Friday from 5 to 8. “This is two great New England traditions merged into one special event,” says SoCo General Manager / COO Steve Burrington. “We want to share the joys of beer ice cream at a time when most people really aren’t thinking about eating frozen desserts. We all deserve a treat, especially at this time of year. Plus, I like beer.” “Good beer ice cream requires flavorful stouts, ales, porters or beers to be successful, which is why atypical beers from microbreweries work best,” says SoCo Flavor Master, Megan Alberg. “You want their tasting notes to come through and give it more flavor.” These ice creams have below 1% alcohol content, but all the flavor. The following beers will be available at SoCo’s Railroad Street scoop shop on a very limited run: Big Elm Brewing 413 Farmhouse Ale. This Sheffield brewery uses barley from the Turner Hill Malting Company in Egremont to make this classic Belgian farmhouse ale. They add entire chamomile flowers and orange zest to help create its unique flavoring. Barrington Brewery Black Bear Stout. Made just down the road from our store in Great Barrington, this is a dark Irish dry stout. The barley gives it a coffee, slightly burnt, and very flavorful taste. Fiddlehead Brewing Company Second Fiddle Double Indian Pale Ale. Fiddlehead Brewing in Shelburne, Vermont makes full-flavored beers with as many local ingredients as possible. The Second Fiddle IPA is known for its juicy flavoring. Hodad Porter, also from the Fiddlehead Brewing Company. It has a chocolate and toasted coconut flavor and also includes vanilla beans. And, last but not least: Two Roads Brewing Company Clementine Gose Sour. This is a classic gose beer blended with fresh Moroccan clementines! This Stratford, Connecticut company specializes in super distinctive beers. This one has a tart, juicy flavor with just a hint of salt. Join us at this exclusive event and try all these flavors before they’re gone!
