"Take a Bite: A 3 Day Food Festival" is April 21-23 in the Colonies. One of the hands on cooking demos is a class on making beer pretzels at Millstream Brau Haus. Take this class, you'll have a blast mixing, rolling, baking and then eating these delicious pretzels. You need to reserve your spot. Call 319-622-7332. I've also heard they have beer there. Hmm pretzels and beer this sounds like a winner! The class is Friday April 21st at 5pm.

It's BOCK time in the Colonies. The first batch of Bock Wurst has just been made. If you aren't familiar with Bockwurst, it's a springtime brat made only until Easter. They're terrific and worth the drive to the Amana Meat Shop. You must try this traditional Amana Colony sausage.
