The following is information about Assumption's Church Narthex (Lobby) Renovation: After meetings discussing how to renovate and brighten the Church Narthex (Lobby) the Renovation Committee has the following suggestions: 1. Refinish the 3 bronze outside entrance doors and middle entrance doors to the church to bring the doors back to their original bronze finish (metallic brown color). 2. Paint the ceiling white with a popcorn finish. 3. Replace the ceiling fixtures with new brighter LED fixtures. 4. Clean and refinish the stone floor. 5. Replace the wooden frame and doors leading to the parish hall and replace with metal frame and double doors like the ones for Mary’s Chapel. 6. Install a camera on the choir loft and add two TV monitors in the lobby to televise the mass for anyone who might have to leave during mass (child, illness). Before and after mass the monitors will show items of interest to the parish. We have 1 monitor. 7. Install wall support for Sacred Heart statue. 8. The bookcase and wall tack strips will be relocated to the area leading to the hall. Items to be decided: 1. Option 1: Cover the dark stained wood wall with drywall and paint it with a bright color and replace the doors to the choir loft. 2. Option 2: Leave the wall as is. 3. Repair the ceiling heater by the center entrance door. If it can’t be repaired, remove it. The Renovation committee would like comments or suggestions before proceeding with soliciting bids for this work via Website,, Facebook, click link on website, or to Anthony Merlino at P: 2152-357-3522 or E: by August 12th. We are hoping to have this project completed by Thanksgiving.
