We are one of the oldest non-profit agencies in Butte County, California, working since 1911 to bring humanitarian care to dogs, cats and other animals. We are a limited-admission shelter that strives to keep every animal happy and healthy for as long as it takes to find their new loving home.
Our goal is to find loving homes for all the lost, abandoned and otherwise unwanted animals that come through our door, and to provide education to the public concerning animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering.
The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers of the Butte Humane Society are committed to a common goal: to place all adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and reduce the suffering brought about by companion animal overpopulation, abuse and neglect.
