As a fellowship of persons who are part of God’s larger family – the Church universal – we hope that you will feel at home with us. We call ourselves Disciples of Christ. The word “disciple” comes from the Greek word mathetes, which literally means “a learner.” We are all learning from the master teacher, Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. And our chief aim is to conform our lives to the life of Christ. This is what makes us Christians.
At Wendell Christian, we regard the Bible as the inspired word of God. We seek to emulate the practice of the early Christians, who “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers” (Acts 2:42).
