Share an excursion with Capt. Larry and his crew, the most experienced, professional and entertaining whale watching tour guides in SE Alaska. Capt. Larry is an internationally renowned whale watch captain with over 45 years on the water, educated in wildlife management and marine biology. Capt. Larry has been VP of Marine Education and Research of Southeast Alaska (MERSEA) since its inception in 1996. In addition to whale watching in Juneau we broker other tours offered in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan.


OUR FLEET
Our fully customized, one of a kind, mammal-safe jet boat, the "AWESOME ORCA", was designed and built specifically for whale watching tours and the comfort of our guests. It is 42 feet long and 12 feet wide, and is one of the fastest excursion vessels in Southeast Alaska. It features a fully enclosed, heated cabin with fantastic viewing from every seat. It is handicap accessible with a restroom and full galley. The rear open deck and upper level observation areas are perfect if you prefer to be outside. The AWESOME ORCA's design offers an opportunity for our guests to be up close and personal with the whales and wildlife we encounter.

The "ORCA ODYSEA" is the Awesome Orca's big sister and is even more awesome. She is our new boat, and was placed in service July 4, 2005. The Orca Odysea is larger in order to accommodate the handicapped and is fully ADA compliant. There is a nice loading ramp suitable for scooters and wheelchairs; even the restroom is handicap accessible. She is 51 feet long and 16 feet wide. A "state of the art" boat that incorporates a few improvements to the AwesomeOrca's design offering increased stability, smoother ride, and easier access. The Orca Odysea is the fastest tour boat in our area, allowing us to venture further from Auke Bay. This allows us opportunities to see more whales and wildlife than before, and spend more time with the animals we encounter. Our leave the crowd behind philosophy is now even better.

For Your Safety:
Our boats are US documented vessels and undergo annual US Coast Guard safety and operational inspections. They are operated by USCG licensed captains, and have a professionally trained tour guide/naturalist on board for all tours. All of our crew members enrolled in a random drug test program and comply with our zero tolerance program. The ORCA ODYSEA, AWESOME ORCA, ORCA EXPLORER, and the ORCA EXPRESS all feature state of the art electronics and communication equipment, and meets USCG 100% lifesaving equipment requirements (flotation vests and rafts).
