Quick training tip of the day! • No doubt everyone’s favorite workout is chest! • But many are performing some of the most essential exercises incorrectly. • Chest Flys are one of those exercises. • In this video you’ll see Real Fitness Expert Trainer, Shea Sullivan, executing this movement on point. • Posture is good, chest is up and shoulders are down. People sometimes tend to elevate their shoulders or round their back which takes the tension of your chest. • He’s keeping the handles in line with his chest, his elbows slightly bent and he is executing the movement with a full range of motion. • Shea is getting a full stretch and a strong contraction at the end of the movement. • His tempo is good. Taking 2-3 seconds on the eccentric phase. While executing the concentric phase with power and precision. • Note his breathing as well. Although he’s breathing he’s not over breathing allowing his diaphragm to drop, losing the contraction. • All of these steps allow Shea to recruit as much muscle fiber as possible. Happy New Years! • 365 chances, 365 days to put in the WORK to reach your goals and improve. • Don’t waste a single day. • Set huge goals. Then write them down and tell others. Speak them into existence. • Don’t stop there though. Next step is to make an POWER LIST or an ACTION list. 3 to 5 things you HAVE to do DAILY to WORK towards those goals. • Legit actions. Not something make 1 million dollars. That’s a goal. Instead the action that will get you there. Like putting aside $25 daily to invest. • Complete that task everyday, week, month and BOOM the YEAR. $6,500.00 later, then invested can lead to that Million. • Same with weight loss. The goal is to lose 50lbs. • Daily action plan; 1. Do my 35min cardio first thing TODAY. 2. Get in my 5 meals TODAY. 3. Hit my workout after work or school TODAY. • A month later your down 7-8lbs so you adjust that plan. 1. Get in my 45 min of cardio TODAY. 2 Get in my 6 meals TODAY. Workout with my trainer TODAY or take that spin class TODAY. • Goals are great, the ACTION is greater. • Setup that daily action plan. Throw back Thursday to being peeled out at Masters Nationals this past summer. • This is one of my favorite BB pics for a few reasons. • First because it came damn close to reaching one of my goals, in earning my IFBB Pro Card. • It was in the over 35 Masters Nationals class. Which to some could be a negative as it wasn’t an open class, but to me it represents doing something I love for damn near 20 years! • Lastly it represents one of the most difficult times in my life on every level. As difficult as that time was, as hard as getting ready for that competition was, I got through it. • This pic reminds me I can and will get through anything.
