Communities In Schools of North Texas was founded in 1994 to be the only school-based dropout prevention program in Denton and Wise counties. In 1998 CISNT served 8 schools. Today, CISNT operates in 37 schools across 6 school districts. Over 1,200 volunteers donated more than 18,000 hours helping at-risk students in our programs last year. We are a locally governed 501(C)(3) non profit organization, led by a passionate and diverse Board of Directors that represents the diverse ethnic, educational, geographic and professional composition of the communities we serve.
