Mescalero Systems of Care

MSOC Specializes in children and youth ages 5 to 21, who may have:

• adjustment challenges
• emotional distress
• are at-risk children and youth
• substance abuse or related problems
• suicidal ideation or suicidal attempts

If you or someone you know may need assistance in any of these areas we have a nomination form, which can be picked up at our office or we can take a nomination over the phone (575) 464-9274.

Once the youth is admitted to the program they will began their Wrap-Around!

Wrap-Around is plan or guide, which consists of team members that the child/youth chooses.

The team members may be anyone that the child believes can help them accomplish their goals.

The "Wrap" is a plan that strives to achieve the child’s goals.

Their goals may be ANYTHING that will help them better develop themselves according to their unique needs. For example the child’s goals may be to get better grades, have higher attendance, overcome an addiction, cope with trauma, live a healthy lifestyle, prevent bullying, and many more!

Once their goals are set and the care plan is "mapped-out" we partner with any services, like IHS, CHR, Social Services, Mescalero Care Center, and the like to ensure that the best programs are being explored and that the plan keeps moving forward!

The MSOC does not charge for services or materials, and all client information is strictly confidential.

We also have a youth group that is currently holding planning meetings to consider activities and projects that the youth would like to hold. For example: we are currently working on
- starting an internet radio that the youth will coordinate, and we are very excited about that!
- As well as, digital story telling projects. Film is an awesome and easy way to express ourselves, and it is an extremely good way to show anyone what you have accomplished, didn’t accomplish, events, ANYTHING! LOL so be looking for some great media opportunities.
- And let’s not forget the chance to travel, meet new people, and share our abilities to come together as a community!!
