ViziTech USA (VZT) is a Service Disabled Veteran owned “breakout learning technology” company involved in leading edge research and application of unique three dimensional training environments. ViziTech USA has presented and / or installed its unique new 3D training technologies to multiple interested government entities such as General Dempsey Chairman JCS, military intelligence at Ft Huachuca, DNA and forensics training at the US Army Crime Lab, and others. VZT has also installed its unique new 3D training technologies in a growing number of colleges and universities such as Savannah Tech College, and Embry Riddle University.
VZT is also actively producing similar training products for fortune 100 corporations such as The Southern Company. VZT has received multiple government and civilian awards such as the “Maverick Award” at the 2010 US Army Distance Learning National Conference, three prestigious Telly Awards in 2011 for high quality commercial 3D training films, and Technology Association of Georgia / TechAmerica 2011 awards for both “Cool Technology” of the year award (2011) and “Technology Entrepreneur” or the year awards (2011) beating out IBM, Convergent Technologies, and other super-corporation nominees.
Texas Instruments conducted a Case Study in 2010 to study the effects of 2D vs 3D classroom training and its effect on learning. This study measured the school student test results of 2D and 3D instruction in science, math and other subjects. The results indicate that the group that received instruction in 3D saw a 33% increase between pre and post instruction whereas the 2D group only saw a 9% increase and an increased retention rate of over 100%. The 33% 3D increase compared to a 9% 2D increase can calculate to almost four times the effectiveness of 3D over 2D. For the application of this project, we feel that we have a distinct capability that could greatly enhance the learning process for these students.
The Millennium generation we now deal with is considered to be a “Three Screen Generation.” By that, we mean that they learn visually, from TV’s, Computers, and Cell Phones, which provide multiple visual inputs, often times viewed simultaneously. We have to reach out, capture this method of input that these “digital natives” are accustomed to, and use it to reach the educational levels we need them to achieve.
