Contender fabrics sail in many national and international classes:
90% of the yachtsmen in the Star class, 75% of the yachtsmen in the Dragon class, 70% of the yachtsmen in the Laser class, 80% of the yachtsmen in the Melges 24 class, and 90% of the yachtsmen in the Regenboog class opt for our fabrics.
Many classes have achieved Olympic success using Contender fabrics, for example, the Star, the 470, the Laser and the Finn classes.
All the winners of the America’s Cup from 1995 to 2007 sailed with Contender spinnakers. Unfortunately, Contender will not appear in the coming America’s Cup due to the introduction of the wingsail.
Contender spinnakers were used by Groupama, the winner of the most recent Volvo Ocean Race.
Contender fabric is used by the striking skipper Robert Scheidt (two times the Olympic champion in a Laser and three times the world champion in a Star).
Woven Contender fabric in a classic cream tint is used in the attractive J-class yacht, the famous Cambria.
